About Benjamin Walker

I’m a Southern California photographer and artist based in Cypress, CA.

My photography is drawn to quiet places, solitary figures, open landscapes, and the moments that often pass unnoticed. I use negative space intentionally—allowing the subject room to breathe and giving the viewer a place to pause.

Whether I’m photographing a great blue heron standing alone in the wetlands, the fading light along the coast, or an unexpected moment on the street, I’m interested in more than simply documenting what was there. I want to capture what it felt like to be there.

That sense of stillness runs through much of my work. There is solitude in the images, but not necessarily loneliness. I think of it more as reverence: a quiet awareness of the natural world, of time passing, and of our small place within it.

My background as a painter continues to influence the way I photograph. I approach composition, color, texture, and empty space much as I would approach a canvas. Landscape and street photography have become another way of showing how I see the world—sometimes beautiful, sometimes strange, but always worth looking at more closely.

This collection is an evolving record of those moments.
